What's a VirtualBeer?+
Meeting up with a friend who lives far away. Each of you goes to a bar or café in your own city, orders something, and you video-call. As if you lived nearby.
Do I need to install anything?+
No. It works in the browser. If you like, add it to your phone’s home screen and it opens like an app.
What do we use for the video call?+
Whatever you already use: WhatsApp, FaceTime, Zoom… VirtualBeers doesn't make the call; it helps you meet and not forget.
What if we live in different time zones?+
Everyone sees times in their own. If you both save your usual moments, we suggest times that suit you both.
Does my friend need an account?+
Just a name and an email to join. No passwords: they always sign in with a link sent to their email.
Can we do it as a group?+
Yes. Drop the link in your WhatsApp group and everyone joins. The VirtualBeer conversation is for all of you.
Will you flood me with emails?+
No. Nudges to meet are at most one a week, and you can turn them off. Conversation messages can arrive right away or in a daily summary.
Does it cost anything?+
No. VirtualBeers is free.
